Women Embrace God’s Love at St. Monica’s Retreat
The Calls to Connect women’s retreat at St. Monica’s Evatt on the 12th of October was a spirit-filled day with 59 registrations. The theme of the day was ‘God’s love transforms’. Guest speakers Sharon Brewer and Rachel Fleurant, MGL, were wonderful. Sharon opened the scripture from Ephesians 3:18-19 which was the hinge scripture of the day.
She put it into context and gave us an insight into St Paul’s writings. This paved the way for Rachel, who looked at God’s love through the seasons of our lives when things were not going so well. She did this with great sensitivity and personal testimony, showing us how God ministers to us when we open our hearts and let God in.
Testimonies were also given by Selina Stanford, a CTC leadership team member and Teresa MGL on the transformative power of God’s love, which gave new insight and direction for the course of their lives. Reactions to the day were very positive; women enjoyed all aspects of the day and the companionship of each other over delicious scones cooked by Frank Stanford and other tasty bits for lunch.
