What have I done?
The prophet Micah, a contemporary of Isaiah, enters our world this day.
We have a court-scene, a scene of judgement or dispute. Apparently, it is a ‘literary form,’ used especially by Isaiah.
My people, what have I done to you,
How have I been a burden to you?
Answer me.
I brought you out of the land of Egypt,
I rescued you from the house of slavery (Micah 6).
I let God ask me this question in the silence and stillness of my heart.
I am ungrateful Lord.
And with your grace, I do repent.
Amen.
