Truth
Consecrate them in the truth.
Your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world,
so I sent them into the world.
We are in strange times. On one side, we have Fake News! Living in a postmodern world where truth is considered subjective. “What is truth,” they ask. On the other hand, we have people insisting that the truth must be told no matter the cost and that anything else is a false way to live.
As Jesus sends his disciples into the world, he asks the Father to consecrate them in truth, for he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. This prayer is for us too.
Jesus is praying for us because of the sacred purpose we have been given. What is this purpose? It is to be transformed into his likeness. Not just for ourselves but for all.
Jesus wants us to go into the world and be his witnesses to the truth. He loves all of his people so much that he sends us into the world to allow others to know the truth, which is Jesus himself.
Lord let us be ready to be your witness in our world.
