‘No place like home’
Sociologists have discovered that even in difficult, dysfunctional families, there’s ‘no place like home.’
The feast of saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus highlights the importance of the ‘domestic church.’
Yes, Jesus Christ is fully present in our family homes, but like Martha we need welcome him into our homes on a daily basis (Luke 10):
God, bless our home,
Abide with us
Through every day and night
That we may live in love and peace
And in your blessed light.
What simple, faithful, familial practices do we have, aiding communion with God and each other?
Amen.
