Lumen Christi students celebrating ATAR results
The future looks bright for the graduating class of 2018 at Lumen Christi as students celebrate their ATAR results.
School dux Bailey Martin scored 92.55 and was ‘super happy’ with his results. Bailey has applied for an advanced Bachelor of Science degree with honours at ANU and is planning on starting straight away.
Other students from the college have been offered a variety of university courses including Engineering, Communications and Media, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Agricultural Science and Biomedical Science.
While some students are keen to make an immediate start next year others are taking a gap year to save money or travel with one considering travelling to America to work in summer camps.
Lumen Christi is also celebrating the success of those who are completing a range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses, with a number of students being offered apprenticeships or employment in retail and hospitality.
Principal Steve Centra commented that ‘there were plenty of good news stories and some solid performances from students who have embraced the “growth mindset” philosophy of the college. By adopting this philosophy, students focus on being the very best they can be and work hard at overcoming the challenges presented to them.
Mr Centra went on to say that ‘the college will continue to provide a diverse range of educational pathways and celebrate successes across the board in terms of academic and vocational success. I am proud that the college is able to provide educational opportunities that allow all students to shine their respective lights’.
