Special delivery for St Pat’s
STUDENTS at St Patrick’s Primary Gundagai have received a gift of sports equipment from St Vincent’s Primary Aranda. St Vincent’s principal Mrs Lina Vigliotta and her husband delivered the equipment to the school which does not have the funds to buy new gear. Students can’t wait to put the equipment to use especially the basketballs.
Sarah’s winning Anzac poem
SARAH Miller from Hennessey College Young has won an Anzac Day writing competition. The Year 7 student’s poem ‘The Day That They Left’ was published in a commemorative booklet distributed to households in the Riverina. The competition is an initiative of Deputy PM Michael McCormack to showcase the talent of Riverina students.
Fireside chats
CANBERRA’S Catholic Bookshop is holding a series of gatherings to listen to authors, artists, travellers and story tellers. On Friday at 1:30pm, author Noel Braun will share his journey and the books that came from the experience of losing his wife. To attend, register at www.firesidechats.org.au.
Using social media to offer hope
REBECCA Gosper from LifeChoice Australia held a workshop at St Christopher’s Pastoral Centre which focused on using social media to promote life values and pregnancy support. Drawing on her experience as director of the pro-life youth movement, Rebecca shared simple ways of using social media to offer hope to women facing crisis pregnancy.
There is a goal to be won with comical short poems/stories.
Sarah’s Anzac poem would fit in very nicely.
Anybody interested in promoting this new line of literature?
Congratulations to St Vincent’s for their generosity to St Patrick’s Gundagai.
