Launching into the Deep
MAYBE the supermarkets were trying to tell us something late last year when they brought out Hot Cross Buns on Boxing Day.
Yes, Easter is coming early this year and it will be Lent before you know it. February 14 is the date.
And it can be so easy for this season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving to creep up and get away on us.
With some good preparation however, Lent 2018, presents us with another opportunity to really ‘launch into the deep’ of our faith.
One way of ‘launching into the deep’ this Lent is by purchasing Good News in Tough Times.
Created by the Archdiocese media team, the DVD is comprised of a series of Year B Gospel reflections given by Archbishop Christopher Prowse.
It has a caption feature and comes complete with personal sharings from Camilla Rowland, Anne Kirwan, Lulu Mitshabu and Warwick Fulton.
Good News in Tough Times, is essentially a weekly Lenten program designed for parish based groups, prayer companions, staff reflections, families and individuals.
It is available from the Catholic Bookshop at 55 Franklin St Manuka. To order over the phone call (02) 6239 9888.
Alternatively it can be purchased from www.faithresources.org.au
The DVD is accompanied by a free prayer book which can be downloaded from the faith resources website.
