Knights of the Southern Cross meeting and dinner November 2019
The Knights of the Southern Cross recently raised over $8000 for the training of Catholic Chaplains ministering to Australian Defence Force personnel.
A cheque was presented to Bishop Max Davis, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate and National Chaplain to the Knights whose National Executive had gathered at the Parish Centre of the of the North Woden Parish of the Transfiguration, Curtin for their annual meeting over the weekend of 23 – 24 November.
The presentation occurred during the Saturday night dinner which was addressed by Mr David Smith, former Marist Pearce student and House of Representatives Member for Bean. The Royal Military College Duntroon Brass Quintet provided a most enjoyable musical interlude.
The Canberra and Goulburn Branch was recognised as ‘Branch of the Year’. Bishop Max presided at Mass for the Knights on both Saturday and Sunday morning in the adjacent Holy Trinity Church.
