Immanuel
Today’s psalm wants us to clap our hands and to cry God with shouts of joy. Why?
Way back God told Isaiah that, ‘The virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel,’ which means ‘God with us.’
Now, at the end of Matthew’s gospel, Jesus says to them, ‘Go, make disciples of everybody, and know that I am with you forever.’ God is always with us.
Yes, that includes you.
But there is a caveat in Acts. Don’t spend your time being pious. Get moving! Witness to Jesus by living like Jesus. Be him!
I have experienced the words. I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS!
Amen
