High Tea connects friendships
“Call to Connect” (CTC) prayer sharing groups in both St Bede’s Braidwood and Holy Spirit Gungahlin hosted separate events in September for their parishes. Holy Spirit Gungahlin held a delightful social lunch with information about the CTC prayer sharing group model followed by prayer and sharing on scripture. A most enjoyable time was had by all, deepening friendships and giving an opportunity for women to come together in a faith context. The day also included a chance to make a donation towards a young mother in the parish with MND, a most worthy cause. St Bede’s Braidwood “Call to Connect” (CTC) women and fabulous helpers hosted a beautiful high tea with 60 in attendance. It also was a wonderful social afternoon bringing women together and with the important purpose of asking those present, how could St Bede’s better serve them and their families in the future.
An excellent response and enthusiasm followed and now we intend to move forward incorporating what we can into our parish life to renew and refresh our community.
The CTC prayer sharing group ministry is a vibrant part of parishes where they operate. Women meet every third week for prayer hospitality and sharing the faith journey in small groups of 6-8 women.
