Heinous Crime

The prophet Micah enters our psyche this day:

Woe to those who plot evil, who lie in bed planning mischief (Micah 2).

The evil spoken about is the seizing of fields and the confiscating of houses.

Appalling.

This is a heinous crime because it deprives people of their living.

This is a heinous crime because it is a sin of malice.

That’s right.

This is a distinction we must face.

There are sins of weakness. There are sins of malice.

Make sure you are patient with the former, but never the later – either in yourself or others.
