Grandparents and Friends Day at Lumen Christi
Visitors came from far and wide to celebrate Grandparents and Friends Day at Lumen Christi, Pambula on Friday morning, with around 150 visitors enjoying a special celebration morning with the Primary students.
Guests joined the students in a Liturgy that celebrated the importance of our grandparents and friends. Students led the group in prayer and recited poetry before singing the Irish Blessing to their loved ones.
One of the highlights of the morning were classroom visits where students showed off their work, played games and read to their grandparents and friends. The smiles on the students faces made it clear just how much they thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to spend time in their classrooms with their visitors.
Before departing our guests enjoyed a shared morning tea of fruit, cakes, slices, biscuits and tea and coffee.
It was a great occasion which reinforced the value of the whole village working together to educate our young people.
