The stuff of a pastoral, strategic plan:

As you go, proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.
Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils (Matthew 10).

Healing maladies – terrific.

Raising people from material and spiritual poverty – wonderful.

Cleansing in such a way that people benefit once again from community life – marvellous.

Casting out the demoniac who loves to kill, lie and accuse – sensational.

But we’ve got to go.

We leave behind the desk, the couch; we let social media turn in on itself.

We go.

We go, we proclaim him.
