Exaltation of the Cross

The symbolism of the Cross of Jesus is a feature of our celebration today. The preface of the Mass is remarkable:

Lord, you place the salvation of the human race on the wood of the Cross, so that, where death arose, life might again spring forth, and the evil one, who conquered on a tree, might likewise on a tree be conquered.

I guess we could ask two questions:

Where is death present in my life?

Where am I currently being conquered?

We simply turn to Jesus Christ who rises from the dead and conquers.
