Retreat using Worship from Taizé
12 April 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 14 April 2019 @ 1:30 PM
$300Finding life and joy in today’s world: A retreat using worship from Taizé, 12-14 April 2019 at Mt Carmel Retreat Centre, Varroville, Sydney
Facilitated by Fr John Armstrong and Annemarie Nicol
“The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it” John 1:5
We face a world in which there is less certainty and we find it difficult to know who to turn to and trust. We encounter situations in which resources are becoming scarcer, employment is less secure, politics is losing its effectiveness, house prices are insane, worldwide geopolitics is being transformed, and the Christian church is in decline. Using songs from Taizé, this weekend will draw us more deeply into the mystery of a God who truly loves us, and walks alongside each of us.
A God who meets us in moments which we experience as Calvary and calls us to a life of conversion, trusting that God is with us even at moments when we feel overwhelmed. In doing so, we can become aware of a simple reality – it is possible to find an inner peace, even joy, in the midst of darkness. All welcome (with a special invite to young people between 18 and 35).
Cost: $300.00 Private facilities, fully catered Friday dinner to Sunday lunch.
