The Marriage Family & Relationships team is seeking a skilled applicant keen to provide practical and administrative support to a dynamic team within the Archbishop’s Office for Evangelisation. The MFR team run faith-based relationship formation programs for students, parents and families, and for engaged & married couples in the Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn.
Specific Duties:
Admin & communications tasks
- Respond courteously and helpfully to all telephone and email enquiries.
- Contact schools, program participants, fertility education clients to ascertain necessary information for program preparation.
- Draft letters of engagement, evaluation reports etc.
- Collect, collate & tally feedback from programs and clients and write draft reports.
- Update & format templates used in communications with clients.
- Update physical and electronic contact information for schools, casual employees, clients, stakeholders.
- Update & manage physical & electronic documents (school correspondence, programming, purchase receipts)
- Monitor & audit employment information for casuals timesheets, WWVP verification, E1’s, vaccination status etc.
- Book accommodation for team travel.
- Prepare materials and book venues for outreach or training programs.
- Book & set up venues for training & outreach events.
- Shop for, prepare and serve refreshments for outreach or training events.
- Organise and anchor zoom meetings / programs.
- Organise and manage the requisite program resource materials. Pack and prepare all physical and digital kits and resources in readiness for school presentations.
Ministry involvement
- Participation with the ministry team on occasion facilitating small groups in schools and anchoring zoom meetings or programs.
Relationships:
Establish and maintain cooperative, harmonious and effective working relationships with members of the team, parishes, schools and agencies.
Personal Attributes:
- Driver’s licence.
- Sound knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic Church and its teachings.
- Good organisational, administrative, managerial and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work.
- Exercise initiative and good judgment, act with tact and discretion, maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
- Experience in setting up audio visual equipment.
- Communications experience especially with social media campaigns.
The Ministry Support Officer will occasionally be required to assist outside normal office hours.
Salary Package:
Includes a friendly & supportive work environment, undercover parking, superannuation at 11%.
