“Remaining optimistic and hopeful – indeed allowing ourselves to ‘dream of a better future’ – requires the courage that is staunchly present in those who have given their lives to community service and in the history of Catholic Social Services itself. In continuing to embrace this courage, it is useful to remind ourselves where our feet of service are planted, learn from those who led us to where we are, confront our failures, discern the needs of today and in doing all of this, welcome the new challenges that times of disruption demand.”
