Cataclysmic

Cataclysmic events are not rare.

The end of the world will be cataclysmic, foreshadowed by a plethora of individual and collective cataclysmic events. We all have to face these moments.

The sun will be darkened, the moon will lose its brightness, the stars will come falling from heaven and the powers in the heavens will be shaken (Mark 13).

Have no fear:

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

The angels, too, will provide comfort.

What should we do when we are in the storm, when all seems to be crumbling down, when the forces of the wind seem to be unassailable?

Jesus, has offered one single sacrifice for sins, and then taken his place forever, at the right hand of God (Hebrews 10).

In the face of his imminent physical destruction and his psychological thumping by the mob, Jesus delivers a love beyond compare:

This is my body. This is my blood.

His saving death and glorious resurrection overflows into the seven sacraments:

In the face of cataclysmic events, the best, most faithful thing we can do is celebrate the Eucharist.

This will sort it all out.
