‘Conscious Recoveries’

David, at the end of life, says to Solomon:

I am going the way of all the earth (1 Kings 2).

Death brings perspective, even now exerting its influence:

Man knows that he is dying and that the universe has the advantage over him. The universe knows nothing of this.

Thus all our dignity consists in thought. It is on thought that we must depend for our recovery, not on space or time (Blaise Pascal, PENSEES).

Knowing that we know. Loving what we know.

Our dignity is profound.

It allows us to rise and make conscious recoveries.

Amen.
