Curious and Chilling

Jesus sends the apostles to preach, and to heal and to expel demons.

Why then are they given a warning about the danger of not being saved?

Jesus gives a curious and chilling explanation:

Then I shall tell them to their faces: I have never known you; away from me, you evil men (Matthew 7).

For starters, Jesus eyeballs those he loves.

And then, not content with mere superficiality, Jesus wants to know us. We have to let ourselves be drawn into him.

Otherwise, we will be preaching, healing and expelling with motives, less than pure.
